What thread is on the screw?
The thread is the ridge that runs around the body of the screw. When viewed from the side, the threads of a screw appear as a series of ridges and grooves along the body of the screw. Although all of these edges are part of the same thread, they are called threads.
PitchA step is the distance from one ridge to another. This measurement will tell you how far the screw will travel in one revolution. A screw with a larger pitch (greater distance between turns) will move further per revolution.
