Belgium – Volkswagen Golf

The German hatchback is a traditional leader in this market, but now Renault Clio is significantly reducing its lead (6457 versus 6162 cars). They are followed by Mercedes A-class, Renault Captur, Citroen C3 and Belgian-made Volvo XC40.

Cyprus - Toyota CH-R

The left island has long been dominated by Asian brands. CH-R is the best-selling model this year with 260 sales, ahead of Hyundai Tucson - 250, Kia Stonic - 246, Nissan Qashqai - 236, Toyota Yaris - 226.

Czech Republic - Skoda Octavia

Not surprisingly, the top five best-selling models in the Czech Republic are still Skoda's Octavia (13 units), Fabia (615), Scala, Karoq and Kamiq. The top ten also includes the Skoda Superb and Kodiaq, also produced in the Czech Republic, the Hyundai i11 and Kia Ceed, produced in neighboring Slovakia.

Denmark – Citroen C3

Denmark is one of the most solvent, but also the most expensive car markets in Europe, which explains the first place of the budget French model with 4906 sales. Estonia - Toyota RAV4

The Japanese crossover dominates the Baltic market with 1033 sales, significantly more than the Corolla (735), Skoda Octavia (591) and Renault Clio (519).

Finland – Toyota Corolla

And here the Japanese model has a serious advantage (3567) over the second - Skoda Octavia (2709). This is followed by Toyota Yaris, Nissan Qashqai, Ford Focus and Volvo S60. The European leader VW Golf takes the seventh place here.

France – Renault Clio

Another market with a strong patriotic bent is that the first nine cars are French or made by another French company (Dacia Sandero), and it is only in tenth place that Toyota Yaris is surpassed. Which, by the way, is also made in France. The head-to-head battle is between the Clio with 60 sales and the Peugeot 460 with 208 sales.

Germany – Volkswagen Golf

Volkswagen dominates Europe's largest car market, with the top three including Golf (74), Passat (234) and Tiguan (35). They are followed by Ford Focus, Fiat Ducato light truck, VW T-Roc and Skoda Octavia.

Greece - Toyota Yaris

Traditionally a strong market for Asian brands, the picture in Greece has been more colorful in recent years. Yaris leads with 3278 sales, followed by the Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa, Nissan Qashqai, Renault Clio and Volkswagen Polo.

Hungary – Suzuki Vitara

The first place Vitara (3) is not surprising, because it is produced at the Hungarian Suzuki plant in Esztergom. This is followed by the Skoda Octavia, Dacia Lodgy, Suzuki SX-607 S-cross, Toyota Corolla and Ford Transit.

Aire – Toyota Corolla

The Corolla, which has returned to the European market, also dominates the Irish market with 3487 total sales, ahead of the Hyundai Tucson at 2831 and the Ford Focus at 2252. The six also include the VW Tiguan, Hyundai Kona and VW Golf.

Italy - Fiat Panda

The small city Fiat is one of the emblems of the Italian way of life. The Panda (61) has almost three times the sales of the second in the ranking, which is also the Italian subcompact Lancia Ypsilon. The Fiat 257X crossover comes in third, followed by the Renault Clio, Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500 and VW T-Roc.

Latvia – Toyota RAV4

The Baltic republics have a weakness for RAV4 - it leads in Latvia and Estonia, and the second - in Lithuania. The crossover sold 516 units in the Latvian market, followed by Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia, VW Golf and Skoda Kodiaq.

Lithuania – Fiat 500

An unexpected first place for Fiat, which sold 1421 cars this year, up from 49 last year. In second place is the Toyota RAV4, followed by the Corolla, Skoda Octavia, Toyota CH-R and VW Golf.

Luxembourg-Volkswagen Golf

In ninth place is the Tesla Model 3.

Norway – Audi e-tron

This is the most developed market for electric vehicles in the world, and this is clearly seen in the top 10, with eight electric vehicles, one plug-in hybrid and only one model that sells more in the petrol version, the Skoda Octavia, in eighth place. The absolute leader this year is the e-tron with 6733 sales, ahead of the electric version of the VW Golf, Hyundai Kona, Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi Outlander hybrid. Tesla Model 3 is the seventh.

Poland - Skoda Octavia

A bitter struggle on the Polish market between Octavia (10 sales) and Toyota Corolla, where the Czech model is only ahead of 893 units. Next come Toyota Yaris, Skoda Fabia, Dacia Duster, Toyota RAV180 and Renault Clio.

Portugal – Renault Clio

It makes sense that the Renault Clio leads the traditionally economically oriented market with 5068 sales. Surprisingly, however, the second place is occupied by the Mercedes A-class. Next come the Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008, Renault Captur and Citroen C3. There is not a single model in the VW group in the top 10.

Romania – Dacia Logan

Romanians are the main consumers of their own budget sedan Logan - more than a third of its global sales are actually in the domestic market (10 units). This is followed by Sandero and Duster, Renault Clio, Skoda Octavia, Renault Megane and VW Golf.

Slovakia – Skoda Fabia

A serious shift in the Slovak market - the Kia Ceed produced here falls from first to fourth position, and the remaining places in the top five fall into the national teams of the neighboring Czech Republic - Skoda Fabia (2967 sales), Octavia, Hyundai i30 and Skoda Scala.

Slovenia – Renault Clio

Spain - Seat Leon

Leon has been the leader in the Spanish market for many years, with 14 vehicles sold in eight months. However, Dacia Sandero follows closely, with Renault Clio, Nissan Qashqai, Toyota Corolla and Seat Arona occupying the rest of the top six.

Sweden - Volvo V60

Good Swedes do not change their favorite brand even after it has passed under the Chinese Geely hat. The V60 has a very convincing lead with 11 sales, ahead of the Volvo XC158 at 60 and the Volvo S6 at 651. The Volvo XC90 is in fifth place, with the Kia Niro and VW Golf rounding out the top six.

Switzerland – Skoda Octavia

Unsurprisingly, in one of Europe's richest countries, the market leader is the Octavia with 4 sales. VW Tiguan is in second place, followed by Tesla Model 148, Mercedes A-class, VW Transporter and VW Golf.

Great Britain - Ford Fiesta

There is nothing surprising here - the Fiesta has been the preferred choice of the British for many years. Sales this year were 29, followed by Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa, VW Golf, Mercedes A-class, Nissan Qashqai and MINI Hatch.
