What are the types of pole hole diggers?

	There are five basic types of post hole diggers to choose from. This is a traditional, scissor, universal, double-articulated and offset post hole digger. Below is an introduction to each type.
Traditional
	The traditional post hole digger is original and simple in design. The mechanical apparatus of the tool consists of two rounded steel blades facing each other, which are connected at the pivot point. The blades are then bolted to the handles to keep them firmly in place.

scissors
	A scissor excavator is also known as a split-arm excavator. It has scissor-like criss-cross handles.
	The digger differs from other types in that the blades are welded to steel tubes that cover the ends of the handles. The handles are inserted into the pipes and bolted to increase the strength of the excavator. This makes the excavator more suitable for working in stony soil, as it reduces the risk of the welded blades coming off the ends of the handles. Universal
	The versatile post hole digger is also known as the Boston digger. In appearance, it is very different from other types, as it has two handles of different sizes and shapes. One handle is long and straight, while the other is much shorter and lever-operated, meaning it curves to the side.
	This type of excavator also works differently than other excavators. It has one blade that digs into the ground and only knocks out the dirt before the second blade swings down with a lever-operated crank to help pick up and remove loose soil. double hinge
	A double articulated excavator has two pivot points instead of one. The extra pivot means the excavator works in the opposite direction to a traditional post hole digger because once the blades are in the ground, the handles are pulled together to clamp the soil instead of spreading out.
	The location of the additional hinge between the handles also prevents them from opening too wide when opening the blades. Offset
	The offset foot hole digger has straight handles that are very close together and then counteract from above by curving in opposite directions. This allows the user to apply less force when closing the blades as the handles have more leverage due to the offset feature.
