When starting the engine in conditions of low temperatures, which are abundant in the Polish winter, it is important that the liquid oil reaches all the friction points in the drive unit as quickly as possible.

The properties of oils in this area are characterized by the pumpability temperature. This is several to ten degrees above the pour point of the oil. Examples of pumping temperatures for some classes of oils are as follows: 0 W - 35; 5W-30; 10 W - 25 and 15 W - 15 degrees Celsius.

On this basis, and taking into account the geographical location of the area where the car is operated, it is possible to determine the parameters of the oil. What's more, by using good low viscosity oils 5W/30, 5W/40 or 10W/40, we can get the additional benefit of reducing fuel consumption by 2,7% compared to running the engine with 20W/30. XNUMX oil, which is of no small importance in winter.
