What is the smallest Audi SUV?

The compact Q2 is Audi's smallest SUV. It is similar in size to the Mercedes GLA and Volkswagen T-Roc and has a distinctive look with lots of curves and contrasting color styling details. It also features a stylized version of Audi's familiar hexagonal grille.

The Q3 is Audi's next largest SUV. This is a great all-rounder, well suited if you need a little more room than the Q2 for a weekend getaway or a hobby that requires a lot of gear. The latest version has enough room for four adults, or at most five, making it a great choice for families.

What is the largest Audi SUV?

Audi's largest SUV is the Q7. It is an imposing seven-seater at 5.1 meters long, roughly equivalent to a BMW X7 or a Range Rover Sport. Among the many high-tech features, most Q7 models have air suspension that provides a comfortable and relaxing ride for you and your passengers. 

The next is the five-seater Q8. It's slightly shorter and lower than the Q7, sportier on the outside and more luxurious on the inside - in fact it's billed as Audi's top model. The purely electric e-tron is similar in size to the Q8.

Slightly smaller than the Q5, a five-seat midsize SUV similar to the BMW X3 or Volvo XC60. The interior combines premium materials with family functionality and high-tech equipment. In addition, there is the purely electric Q4 e-tron, which sits between the Q3 and Q5.

What are the Sportback models?

Audi Q3, Q4 e-tron, Q5 and e-tron are available in Sportback version. Sportback is the term Audi uses for SUVs with sleeker, coupe-like styling rather than the traditional upright SUV appearance of non-Sportback models.

Sportback models look great, but they cost more and aren't as practical, losing overhead space in the back seat and, in some cases, trunk space.

Which Audi SUVs are seven-seat?

If you have a large family and need a seven-seat car, there is only one Audi SUV for you - the Q7. It has second row seats that slide back and forth to make it easier to access the third row or increase legroom in one or the other.

The Q7 has Isofix mounts for six child seats, so it's the best choice for families with lots of kids. The trunk is quite small, with all seven seats in place, but you can fold each third-row seat into the trunk floor when you don't need it. This gives you a massive 865 liter space, big enough to fit everything you need for an adventurous family outing.

Which Audi SUV is best for dog owners?

Thanks to the spacious trunk in all Audi SUVs, you are sure to find the right one for you and your canine friend. Terriers will be perfectly happy in Q2 or Q3, while larger dogs like Labradors or even Great Danes will be able to stretch out in Q5 or Q7.

Q5 is a particularly good choice for dog owners. It is available with a rear seat protector to keep your dog from damaging the upholstery and a harness to keep your dog secure in the back seat. Audi also offers a range of branded dog accessories if you want to pamper your pet.

Are there Audi hybrid or electric SUVs?

Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions Q3, Q5, Q7 and Q8 are available. They use gasoline-electric power and have an official zero emission range of at least 26 miles, depending on the model. Charging at home takes hours, and you can use a smartphone app to set a timer remotely to take advantage of cheaper electricity rates.

Audi also offers two purely electric SUVs. The e-tron has a range of up to 252 miles and can charge the battery from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes. The smaller Q4 e-tron has a range of up to 316 miles, so you can go on longer journeys without worrying about running out of power.

Which Audi SUV has the largest trunk?

With all the seats in place, the five-seater Q5 has the largest boot ever, with a capacity of 610 liters, which can easily accommodate two large dogs. The larger Q7's trunk is about half that size with its seven seats up, but fold down the rearmost pair and you've got a whopping 865 liters of space. This is enough for a family of five to take two large bags with them on vacation.

Are Audi SUVs good off-road?

Audi SUVs aren't as good off-road as Jeeps or Land Rovers, but they can hold their own against rival BMWs or Mercedes-Benz models thanks to high ground clearance and all-wheel drive on many models. The Q7 and Q5 are the most capable, handling trails, harsh weather and muddy terrain with ease.

Do all Audi SUVs have all-wheel drive?

Most Q2, Q3 and Q4 models have two-wheel drive, although powerful models have four-wheel drive, which Audi calls "quattro". Larger models from the Q5 onwards come with all-wheel drive as standard, giving you extra confidence when driving on wet, muddy or icy roads.

Are there Audi sport utility vehicles?

Audi has two levels of sporty SUV models, identified by the "S" or "RS" in their name.

The “S” SUV models are the SQ2, SQ5, SQ7, SQ8, and e-tron S. They feature high-performance engines (or electric motors, in the case of the e-tron S) and all-wheel drive as standard. They feel fast and responsive to drive, but only slightly sportier than the standard models.

The "RS" models are more extreme in both style and performance. The RS Q3 and RS Q8 can go as fast as some of the more expensive, more specialized sports cars, and they can be a lot of fun on the country road. They are still practical everyday family cars, but not as comfortable due to the larger wheels and different suspension that make you feel the bumps in the road more easily.
