However, larger and more comfortable western-made trailers such as Knaus are appearing. However, they are much heavier and require a reasonably strong vehicle.

The hitch must be approved by the Automotive Institute. However, this is not enough: after installation, you should go to the designated diagnostic station, which will confirm the possibility of towing the trailer with a stamp in the registration certificate.

Most trailers have an overrun brake mounted on the drawbar (not to be confused with a handbrake). This is especially useful when hiking in the mountains. However, reverse requires practice, as it easily blocks the wheels during sharp maneuvers. If we do not have a brake, remember that the braking distance is increased by at least a third.

After attaching the trailer, carefully check the electrical connection. The drawbar must be locked with a padlock or padlock so that the trailer does not come loose while driving. Just in case, we put on a steel safety cable.

Even for less experienced drivers, driving should be easy if they remember a few basic rules: first, our car "lengthens" by at least 2 meters. You should be more careful when entering the turn, as at high speed the trailer will throw into the adjacent lane. When driving in reverse, do not twist the kit too much: the rear of the car can easily be damaged.

In order not to tire the engine before climbing, add gas in advance. We go down slowly and on the run. If the trailer is snaking, do not apply the brakes! You have to downshift and add gas, and it will straighten itself. Overtaking takes much longer and requires a large stretch of empty road. Parking, especially at curbs clogged with cars, should be practiced before leaving.

It is better not to charge with a trailer, all the same, the rules limit the speed to 70 kilometers per hour outside settlements, as well as on expressways and motorways.
