Meet Ae Tha Say

He is just starting his career at Chapel Hill Tire, but he has come a long way to us.

E Ta Say's family immigrated to the United States when he was nine years old. They left war and genocide in Burma for a new life in the United States. They settled in Chapel Hill, and it wasn't until June last year that Eh graduated from Chapel Hill High School.

“I fell in love with car repair when I was about 10 years old, watching our family and friends work on their cars,” he said. "It's just fun to figure out what's wrong, fix it, and bring the car back to life."

Just as travel becomes a career path, passion becomes a profession.

Eh is now working full-time for Chapel Hill Tire and is pursuing an associate's degree from Alamance Community College with the help of the company. Glad to be part of the Chapel Hill Tire family, his joyful smile brightens the day for the people he works with. And we are happy to announce that he plans to make his next career path that will lead to him becoming a master technician here.

“Of course I miss Burma,” Eh says, “because I'm from there. But I wouldn't trade America for that. Here you have the opportunity to become whoever you want to be. There? No."

“We service cars,” said Mark Pons, co-owner of Chapel Hill Tire with his brother Britt. “But we serve people – our customers and each other. It's great that we can use our talents to help people take care of their cars, but we're very grateful that we can create a place where people take care of each other."
