Kia, Hyundai and LG Chem announce startup competition. Topic: electrics and batteries

Kia-Hyundai and LG Chem have decided to announce the EV & Battery Challenge, a global startup competition for the electric vehicle and battery industry. The most promising initiatives will be able to collaborate with the organizers, which in the future will lead to an increase in the efficiency of lithium-ion batteries.

It's a good time to try and conquer the world

All companies dealing with solutions in the field of:

  • battery control,
  • charging electric vehicles,
  • fleet management,
  • electronics that control electric motors,
  • processing and production of batteries.

The first impression came to mind about ElectroMobility Poland, which should have expertise in at least a few of the areas mentioned. Unfortunately for our domestic tycoon, Kia, Hyundai and LG Chem invite you only startups with working prototypes, and our Polish electric cars probably won't see the light of day this June:

> Jacek Sasin confirms: there are prototypes of the Polish electric car

To participate in the competition, you must submit your application on the EV & Battery Challenge website by 28 August 2020. Successful candidates will be invited for an online interview in October 2020. The next step will be seminars and, possibly, further cooperation with the organizers. The result will be improved lithium-ion cells and possibly more efficient electric motors in the future.

It is worth adding that LG Chem itself also organized a somewhat narrower event ("The Battery Challenge") in 2019. Ion Storage Systems, which develops solid electrolyte cells, or Brill Power, which specializes in monitoring and optimizing cell systems in batteries.
