Kia Niro. What drive? What equipment? Changes in the second generation
After five years in the market for the first generation Niro, it's time for a change. The second generation of the SUV made its debut at the Seoul Mobility Show in Seoul.
The look of the new Niro was heavily influenced by the 2019 Habaniro concept model. The bold two-tone crossover features a wide C-pillar to improve airflow and therefore aerodynamics. It also houses boomerang-shaped rear lights.
The characteristic tiger-shaped nose guard has been redesigned and extends from the hood to the bumper in the new Niro. The modern look of the front end is emphasized by the attractive daytime running lights with LED technology. Vertical lights at the rear enhance the sense of width. This is the merit of vertical windows and a clearly marked side line.
Kia is now introducing Greenzone Driving Mode, which automatically switches from plug-in hybrid to electric drive. When driving in the so-called green zones, the car automatically starts to use electricity for movement, based on the directions of the navigation system. The new Niro also recognizes the driver's favorite places, such as the home or office in the city center, which are stored in the navigation as a so-called green zone.

The interior of the new Kia Niro uses new recycled materials. The ceiling, seats and door panels are made from recycled materials blended with organic materials to minimize the environmental impact of the new Niro and reduce waste.
The instrument panel curves around the driver and passenger and has many intersecting horizontal and diagonal lines. The center console is equipped with an electronic driving mode switch. Its simple appearance is provided by a wide glossy black surface. The multimedia screen and air vents are built into the slanted slots of the modern dashboard. Mood lighting emphasizes its shape and creates a friendly atmosphere in the interior.
The new Niro will be available with HEV, PHEV and EV drivetrains. More information about the disc will appear closer to the premiere, the first copies will be delivered to Poland in the third quarter of 2022.
