The difficult economic situation in Russia that has developed over the past year and a half did not affect the position of the Korean automaker Kia, which, by the way, was doing well at the international level. And a vivid illustration of these words was the Kia Sportage 2016 launched on the market.

The XNUMXth generation of this charismatic and well-proven crossover has noticeably "freshened up", it has become brighter, more confident and solid, but at the same time, the developers have managed to preserve its characteristic features.
And if the previous generation of cars was able to reach the level of Japanese crossovers in their technical characteristics, then the new Kia Sportage model may well claim to be the leader in this segment. Koreans have earned this right with their hard work, because while corporations from the Land of the Rising Sun are trying to reduce operating costs, fighting for consumers, brands from South Korea are producing cars with an unattainable range of trim levels and price ranges.
So, the cost of the Kia Sportage 2016 in the salons of Moscow is 1 rubles - a more advantageous offer in this class of cars is simply not neoty. The crossover in the Classic package is well equipped and includes tires with a pressure sensor, stylish wheels made of the lightest aluminum alloy, an air conditioning system and an audio player with a block for discs. The pleasant "metallic" color is in perfect harmony with the confident and stylish lines of the body, and the internal ergonomics is achieved by the introduction of a steering column with fixation in two positions, power windows on all windows, a folding rear seat device and a height-adjustable front row, as well as a powerful board computer ...
The model is equipped with a starting descent and ascent assistant, stabilizing ESP-system, a set of airbags (6 pieces). Additional space in the cabin was provided by an enlarged wheel bezel, which added 30 mm to the body (the same parameters are characteristic of the Hyundai Tucson, delivered on the same platform as the updated Kia Sportage).
The use of high-strength lightweight steel increased the rigidity of the frame, while reducing the weight of the car, and the streamlining ratio decreased due to long-term work on aerodynamics. Since the car was installed on a new platform, the clearance problem typical for the Hyundai Elantra platform resolved itself and on the Kia Sportage the clearance reaches, depending on its modification, standard parameters - from 182-200 mm.

This configuration is produced with a 2L engine running on gasoline, differing in transmission devices. The price of the car starts from 1 rubles and, in addition to the basic equipment, includes several extremely useful options. These include:

- a heating system connected to the steering wheel, mirrors and seats.

In addition to basic instrumentation, the version is complemented by a climate control system, a light and precipitation sensor, a Kia parktronic in the original design, powerful navigation and a video camera configured for a rear view.
Kia Sportage Prestige and Kia Sportage Premium
The most variable is the combination of a 2-liter engine, an automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive, which are offered in the following two configurations - Prestige and Premium. In the Prestige configuration, Kia costs from 1 rubles, in the Premium configuration - from 714 rubles. In these configurations, a new engine modification appears - a 900-liter tubodiesel for 1 "horses", for which you will have to pay 944 rubles.

The equipment of the crossover in the Prestige configuration is replenished with first-class xenon headlights, a keyless way of starting the engine, and an automatic handbrake.
The Premium features a plush leather interior with front, electrically operated, ventilated seats.
The list of safety systems is expanding with blind spot monitoring and automatic parking, while a panoramic roof with a large sunroof, premium audio, weather-adapting headlights and, of course, an electric drive attached to the boot lid will become optional bonuses "from the manufacturer". The XNUMXth generation Kia Sportage model is distinguished by excellent sound insulation, in addition, high-quality and expensive finishing materials are used in all vehicle trim levels.
And the last, the brightest and most expensive modification of the updated Kia Sportage, was released under the name GT-line Premium. This equipment in Russia is represented by an all-wheel drive car with an automatic transmission. For a turbodiesel engine with 184 horsepower, you will have to pay 30 rubles, moreover, the starting price of a complete set (a gasoline 000-liter turbo engine with 1,6 hp) reaches 177 rubles.

Comparative characteristics of the new generation Kia Sportage 2016 and its competitors proves that its main competitor is Mazda CX-5, the cost of which starts at 1.340.000 rubles, but the initial equipment of the Japanese model does not include aluminum rims, fog lamps and paint with a "metallic" effect. Nissan Qashqai XE cannot boast of this functionality, but its price is more attractive for buyers (1 rubles). In addition, Nissan has a slightly smaller engine cubic capacity, losing to the new Kia Sportage in this respect.
If we compare the Korean novelty with Volkswagen Tiguan, it turns out that the German's engine is also slightly smaller and the new Foltz modification clearly does not improve the situation, since the turbo engine initially loses to the atmospheric engine. And the Ford Kuga and Toyota RAV4 crossovers exceed the Korean KIA only in the price category exceeding 1 rubles. As for the equipment and technical performance of these models, they do not reach the performance of the Korean crossover.

The 2016 Kia Sportage is equipped with a 1,6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 177 hp, which has added new positions to the list of trim levels and the model's price range.
