The Chinese showed the "Big Dog"

At an automobile exhibition in the Chinese city of Chengdu, Haval (part of Great Wall Motors and specializing only in the production of crossovers and SUVs) demonstrated its new model - DaGou (from Chinese - "Big Dog"). The car will appear on the Chinese market at the beginning of winter and next year in other parts of the world, but probably under a new name.

Initially, they thought that under the brutal appearance of the car there would be a crossover on the frame, like the Haval H5. However, it turned out that Haval DaGou has a self-supporting structure and a transverse engine. The model is built on a new chassis: a multi-link rear suspension, and the usual McPherson front (the same platform in the third generation Haval H6).

The Big Dog, meanwhile, has an SUV-like exterior with unpainted bumpers, massive roof railings, and wheel arch moldings. In terms of size, the model belongs to the class Haval F7, X-Trail and Outlander. The model reaches 4620 mm in length, its width is 1890 mm, and its height is 1780 mm, and the wheelbase is 2738 mm. It is equipped with LED optics and 19-inch wheels.
The cabin of the Haval DaGou features a virtual instrument cluster, a widescreen multimedia system, a two-tier center console and a circular gear selector (selector washer). The equipment includes electric front wheels, air conditioning for two zones, 360-degree cameras, etc.

Only the base version of the Haval DaGou was shown, equipped with a 1,5-liter gasoline turbo engine with 169 hp. It works in tandem with a robotic dual-clutch transmission (shifting can be done using paddle shifters). Later, a version with 2-liter will be released. turbo engine from the 4N20 family. The novelty will be all-wheel drive with a rear differential lock function and different modes for off-road driving.
