Skoda Fabia 1.2 12V HTP Free Comfort

In the 1.2 engine equipped with four-valve technology, the letter P is painted red. But we all know, of course, that the red letters on the engine labels on Volkswagen vehicles in the past few years indicate more power! It's the same with the Škoda Fabia. The three-cylinder engine, available in both two- and four-valve engines, has more power and torque available from the other side. The latter then has a maximum of 47 kilowatts (64 horsepower) and 112 Newton-meters of torque.

The numbers themselves do not promise to break records of speed and explosive acceleration, but in the city and at speeds up to about 80 kilometers per hour, the Fabia 1.2 12V HTP turns out surprisingly well.

Starting from just above idle, the engine runs continuously and flexibly up to the stepless safety speed limiter, which prevents the engine from running at 6000 rpm. A weak motorcycle requires a little more attention from the driver just when starting off. In the idling zone, it is necessary to press the accelerator pedal a little harder, otherwise the grinder's drive may become silent.

As such, the engine performs well at lower average revs despite the relatively limited cavalry under the hood. What about faster roads?

There, on your first pass, you will find that you need to use one of two possible overtaking tactics. The first is to predict the overtaking place in advance and start picking up speed in advance, which at the moment of overtaking is much higher than that of a slower car, so that overtaking is as short as possible.

In this tactic, it is imperative to know the way in advance. For the second, a "simple" descent is enough, where gravity also comes to the rescue of the motorcycle. When going uphill, we generally do not recommend overtaking, especially if the car is additionally loaded with passengers and luggage.

Everything else in the Fabia, apart from the engine, remains unchanged. The overall ergonomics, including thanks to the widely adjustable driver's seats and steering wheel, are very good, the materials are good to the touch, and the dashboard still lacks design versatility. For example, only four airbags continue to interfere, the seat belt in the middle is only two-point, and the right outside mirror is almost uselessly small.

Thus, red is better suited to the letter T than to the letter P. The motorcycle in the Fabia 1.2 12V is much better in the city, where the bike's agility is good, than outside the city. There, in addition to the engine torque, the car also needs power for quiet driving. This, however, simply cannot be with a 1-liter engine. For anyone who mainly lives in and around the city, the Fabia 2 1.2V HTP is a good choice.
