The most important part of the Superb test this time took place on a long journey through Germany. Along with the dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) and the powerful turbodiesel, the driver assist systems have proven to be of great help. Well, even German drivers have the bad habit of pushing themselves into the “empty” space between two cars, which even Superb's active cruise control deemed a suitable safe distance. Unlike some older systems, the Superb performed such maneuvers with ease and without harsh braking, which should be considered particularly good. In fact, thanks to the generous amount of space, including the trunk, we can bestow the title of contender for much more prestigious brands. But as Dusan mentioned when testing the limousine version, the owners will still have the most problems because of the Škoda brand. Of course, for those who prefer premium products. Superb, on the other hand, will give the brand an extra credit for enhancing its reputation for quality. However, it is true that all of these useful items on the accessory list result in an increase in the acceptable price of the car. At a slightly lower price point, the Superb still outperforms more established rivals, but with 19-inch alloy wheels, active cruise control (variable speed control up to 210 km / h), flexible ACC chassis, intelligent light assist and lane keeping assist. functions, roof window, metal paint, rear view camera, internet access, autonomous vehicle heating, Columbus navigation system, Alcantara seat and other covers, as well as a Canton sound system increase the price by just over 7.000 euros. Superb also proves that comfort is worth the money. Of course, the Superb also has its drawbacks. A really powerful two-liter turbodiesel engine is sometimes not even heard from under the hood. This leads to the conclusion that in some secret place, for example, when muffling sounds, the Škoda designers have found a reason to save. While the power transmission to the front wheels was taken care of by the dual-clutch transmission, we were not too happy with starting and driving, where such a transmission shows its limitations. They can also be encountered if drivers speed up while driving sportier on winding roads, which is much more noticeable if there are more passengers or luggage in the car.
