- Deciphering error codes Mercedes Sprinter
The compact Mercedes Sprinter is one of the favorite models for carrying small loads. This is a reliable machine that has been produced since 1995. During this time, she experienced several incarnations, along with which self-diagnosis changed. As a result, Mercedes Sprinter 313 error codes may differ from version 515. The general principles remain. First, the number of characters has changed. If earlier there were four of them, today there can be up to seven, like fault 2359 002.
Deciphering error codes Mercedes Sprinter
Depending on the modification, the codes can be displayed on the dashboard or read by a diagnostic scanner. On earlier generations, such as the 411, as well as the Sprinter 909, errors are indicated by a flashing code transmitted by a blinking control light on the computer.
The modern five-digit code consists of an initial letter and four digits. Symbols indicate faults in:
- engine or transmission system - P;
- body elements system - B;
- suspension - C;
- electronics - at
In the digital part, the first two characters indicate the manufacturer, and the third indicates a malfunction:
- 1 - fuel system;
- 2 - power on;
- 3 - auxiliary control;
- 4 - inactive;
- 5 - power unit control systems;
- 6 - checkpoint.
The last digits indicate the type of fault.
P2BAC - Sprinter error
It is produced in the modification of the van version of the Classic 311 CDI. Indicates that EGR is disabled. There are several ways to fix a car. The first is to check the adblue level, if it is provided in the Sprinter. The second solution is to replace the wiring. The third way is to fix the recirculation valve.
EDC - malfunction Sprinter
This light indicates problems with the electronic fuel injection control system. This will require cleaning the fuel filters.
Sprinter Classic: SRS error
Lights up when the system is not de-energized by removing the negative terminal of the battery before starting repair or diagnostic work.
EBV - Sprinter Malfunction
The icon, which lights up and does not go out, indicates a short circuit in the electronic brake force distribution system. The problem could be a faulty alternator.
Sprinter: breakdown P062S
In a diesel engine, indicates an internal fault in the control module. This happens when the fuel injector shorts to ground.
43C0 — code
Appears when cleaning the wiper blades in the ABS unit.
Code P0087
Fuel pressure is too low. Appears when the pump malfunctions or the fuel supply system is clogged.
P0088 - Sprinter error
This indicates excessively high pressure in the fuel system. Occurs when the fuel sensor fails.
Sprinter 906 Malfunction P008891
Indicates excessively high fuel pressure due to a failed regulator.
Malfunction P0101
Occurs when the mass air flow sensor fails. The cause should be sought in wiring problems or damaged vacuum hoses.
P012C — code
Indicates a low signal level from the boost pressure sensor. In addition to a clogged air filter, damaged wiring or insulation, corrosion is often a problem.
In 0105
Malfunction in the electrical circuit of the absolute pressure sensor. Particular attention should be paid to the wiring.
R0652 — code
The voltage drop is too low in the "B" circuit of the sensors. Appears due to a short circuit, sometimes damage to the wiring.
Code P1188
Appears when the high pressure pump valve is faulty. The reason lies in the damage to the electrical circuit and the breakdown of the pump.
P1470 - Code Sprinter
Turbine control valve not working properly. Appears due to malfunctions in the electrical circuit of the car.
P1955 - Malfunction
Problems arose in the glow plug module. The fault lies in the contamination of the particulate filters.
Error 2020
Tell us about the problems with the intake manifold actuator position sensor. Check wiring and sensor.
In 2025
The fault is with the fuel vapor temperature sensor or with the vapor trap itself. The reason must be sought in the failure of the controller.
R2263 — code
On a Sprinter with an OM 651 engine, error 2263 indicates excessive pressure in the turbocharging system. The problem is not in the cochlea, but in the pulse sensor.
In 2306
Appears when the ignition coil "C" signal is low. The main reason is a short circuit.
2623 - code Sprinter
The mass air flow sensor is idling compensated. Check if it is broken or if the wiring is damaged.
In 2624
Appears when the injector control pressure regulator signal is too low. The reason lies in the short circuit.
2633 - code Sprinter
This indicates a too low signal level from the fuel pump relay "B". The problem occurs due to a short circuit.
Fault 5731
This software error occurs even on a completely repairable car. You just need to remove it.
9000 - breakdown
Appears in case of problems with the steering position sensor. It will need to be replaced.
Sprinter: how to reset errors
Troubleshooting is carried out using a diagnostic scanner or manually. Everything happens automatically after selecting the appropriate menu item. Manual deletion occurs according to the following procedure:
- start the car engine;
- close the first and sixth pins of the diagnostic connector for at least 3 and no more than 4 seconds;
- open contacts and wait 3 seconds;
- close again for 6 seconds.
After that, the error is erased from the machine's memory. A simple reset of the negative terminal for at least 5 minutes is also sufficient.
