When to use winter tires?

At the end of the calendar autumn, it is worth changing summer tires to more “suitable” ones for difficult winter conditions on our roads.

There are more than 150 days in our climatic zone, during which the temperature is below plus 7 degrees, and on the roads there is rain, snow, ice or slush.

This is a period of about 5 months from November to the end of March. During this time, very changeable and difficult driving conditions prevail due to the reduced grip of summer tires. Therefore, at the end of the calendar autumn, it is worth changing summer tires to more “suitable” for autumn-winter road conditions.

Since winter comes quickly and usually takes road workers by surprise, when temperatures drop below 7 degrees C, tires should be replaced with winter ones. Anyone who has tried "winter tires" will appreciate their advantage over summer tires.
