When do we drive the safest?

According to police statistics, the largest number of accidents occur in summer, when roads are in excellent condition, and it is safest to drive in winter, during snowfall.

The statistics may seem surprising. From almost 40 accidents to last year, almost two-thirds of them took place in good road conditions. 13% of accidents happened in the rain. According to statistics, only every twentieth accident occurred during a hail or snowfall. – Contrary to appearances, this is not unusual, – comments Agnieszka Kazmierczak from Yanosik.pl. – In better weather conditions, we feel more confident, we drive much faster. When conditions are unfavorable, we slow down. And this speeding is still the most common cause of accidents in Poland, adds Kazmierczak.

Safer winters

Of course, it should be remembered that there are simply much fewer snowy days a year. However, even taking into account the proportions, it turns out that then the roads are safer. The Weather Data Archiving Service counted 92 days of snow in Poland last year. This is a quarter of the year, and then only 5% of all accidents occurred. Difficult conditions and limited visibility force you to drive safely.

Statistics show that in summer months. Last year, more than 40% of all accidents occurred between June and September; 45% of all victims died there. Then the conditions on the roads are the best, so this is the easiest way to build up courage. At the same time, the holiday season continues, we are going on vacation.
