When is it right to change the “rubber” for winter

A survey conducted by the AvtoVzglyad portal among its readers showed that most of them do not pay attention to the recommendations of "experts" and change tires for the winter, guided only by their own understanding of the weather situation.

Another autumn asks a traditional seasonal question: is it time to “change shoes” for winter, or can you still ride on summer tires? As usual, the press at this time is full of articles about winter tires and expert recommendations on this topic. A variety of "talking heads" from the traffic police, the Hydrometeorological Center and other Traffic Management Centers (TSODD) are beginning to remind of caution and preparation for the coming snowfalls, which in practice turn out to be cold autumn rains. One way or another, you still have to change tires for winter, since most of the country, unfortunately, is far from Crimea in terms of its weather conditions.

In this regard, we decided to find out what motorists are actually guided by when choosing the moment to “change shoes” for their cars before winter? And they conducted a corresponding survey among visitors to the AvtoVzglyad portal. A total of 3160 people took part in the study. It turned out that the majority of car owners, choosing the moment of "changing shoes", prefer to focus solely on the calendar: 54% of respondents (1773 people) change summer "rubber" for winter not depending on the weather, but strictly during October.

But a considerable proportion of drivers still believe in the Hydrometeorological Center: 21% of those who voted (672 people) listen to the recommendations of this organization when it comes to a seasonal trip to a tire fitting. According to the results of the survey, the situation with citizens who prefer "all-season" wheels became more or less clear: 14% of the survey participants (450 people) reported that they were not going to change tires at all due to the approach of winter.

There were relatively few of the most cunning and risky among our respondents - only 6%. These people plan to “change shoes” for their car when the lines at the tire shops disappear. And least of all, our readers trust the statements of the TsODD, including those on the “rubber” topic: only 4% (83 people) listen to the opinion of the employees of this structure.
