When the clutch jerks

When the clutch jerks One of the signs of a clutch failure is a sharp twitching of the car when starting off.

The lack of smooth transmission can be caused by the following reasons:When the clutch jerks

  • the so-called cross-section of the pressure ring due to deformation of the body or one or more of its leaf springs,
  • local overheating of the clutch disc as a result, for example, of too little play (or no play at all) of the release bearing or incorrect driving technique, i.e. holding the clutch in unnecessary, too long slip,
  • deformed disc spring sheets
  • oily friction linings (or grease on the linings), for example, due to oil leakage through the seal on the flywheel side or excessive grease applied to the splines of the clutch shaft,
  • worn release bearing guide bush, release bearing running surface or worn clutch release shaft, most often as a result of insufficient or complete lack of lubrication,
  • local increase in resistance between the clutch cable and its armor,
  • worn, uneven flywheel surface,
  • incorrect engine adjustment (idle)
  • air in hydraulic clutch control system
  • incorrect or damaged powertrain mounting components.
