When should you change your motorcycle oil?

Motorcycle engine oil should be changed at the time recommended by the manufacturer. In motorcycles, the oil is responsible for lubricating the metal parts of the engine and transmission, as well as keeping the engine cold.

Changing the oil in a motorcycle engine is one of the most important maintenance tasks.

Changing the oil on a motorcycle is just as important as changing the oil on a car. Failure to change the oil on a motorcycle can have serious consequences for the engine and transmission., it will also increase fuel consumption and reduce the performance of the motorcycle.

Just like in cars, motorcycle engine oil is responsible for lubricating moving metal parts, protecting the engine from the aggressive effects of moisture, combustion by-products and various additives.

Motorcycle engine oil is also responsible for cooling and lubricating the transmission. This means that most motorcycles do not use automatic transmission oil like cars do.

In other words, changing your oil at the recommended time is vital to the proper operation of your motorcycle.

When should you change your motorcycle oil?

Your best bet is to check your owner's manual for when to change your motorcycle's oil and which oil to use.

However, the engine may need new oil sooner, or you simply don't have the owner's manual anymore. In this case, oil change intervals depend on what kind of oil you use in your motorcycle, the number of miles, and how often you ride it.

Here we give you some information about when to change depending on the type of oil.

– Mineral oil is recommended to be changed every 2,000-3,000 miles.

– It is recommended to change synthetic oil every 7,000 to 10,000 miles or at least once a year.

– Semi-synthetic oil is recommended to be changed every 5,000–6,000 km.

These are just some general guidelines, but it is important to know your motorcycle and be able to identify symptoms that indicate an oil change is needed. You may need to change the oil much earlier than recommended, you just need to always pay attention to the performance of the motorcycle.
