Number of Hyundai and Kia car thefts in Wisconsin considered 'epidemic'

Kia and Hyundai cars are characterized by the fact that they are good quality cars that are covered by the warranty. However, a class action lawsuit has been filed in Wisconsin alleging that the firms' vehicles have manufacturing defects that make it easier for high school students to steal cars.

At least 2021 Hyundai vehicles and 2,559 Kia vehicles have been stolen in Wisconsin so far in 2,600. Another December. For this reason alone, a class action lawsuit was filed against Hyundai and Kia.

What is Hyundai and Kia's class action lawsuit about theft?

The lawsuit alleges that all of the automaker's vehicles have defects, especially in the ignition systems. Plaintiffs Stephanie Marvin and Katherine Vargin allege that Kia and Hyundai cars are targeted by thieves because of these defects. According to him, they use poor design.

Unfortunately, little is known about the lawsuit, as it is closed. But statistics continue to say break-ins are an "epidemic" because 66% of all break-ins involve Kia and Hyundai paper clips.

Extrapolating further, Hyundai and Kia thefts in Milwaukee alone have increased by 2,500% in the last year alone. Seriously! To make matters worse, many of the thieves are presumably high school students who find it easy to steal these cars.

Milwaukee thieves are called "Kia Boys".

They even have a name; Kia Boys or Kia Boys. It's such a problem that the Milwaukee Police Department is now offering free driver insurance to stem the tide.

That's how the Kia Boyz do it

Presumably, they enter through the side windows or peep through the rear window, because it is not part of the car theft system. They then remove the panel that houses the USB cable port. Once removed, they are tied to the vehicle via a port to start the vehicle.

Part of the problem is that Kia Boyz favorites supposedly don't have an engine immobilizer. This feature is available on most vehicles with a push button start system. So there are problems at different stages of theft, in sum, which makes it easier to steal.
