General Motors has announced the development of an electric pickup truck. The first teaser was shown

An electric pickup truck from an American manufacturer will be assembled at a plant in Detroit. Work on the manufacture of new items will begin in 2021.

The creation of electric citycars is a modern trend in the automotive industry. Many companies “plug in crossovers”, and General Motors decided to electrify the “working” car. The first model teaser was presented to the public.

This is just a debut image on which no details are visible. Most likely, the pickup will have a large windshield, a large inclined hood. Judging by the image, the cargo compartment will not differ in outstanding dimensions.

The novelty will be produced at the D-HAM plant, which is located in Detroit. Cadillac CT6 and Chevrolet Impala models are already being assembled here. According to rumors, the facility will soon be fully reconfigured to manufacture electric vehicles. It is already known that the Cruise Origin electric passenger car will be created here.

The US company will spend approximately $ 2,2 billion on the conversion of the plant. After the update, 2,2 thousand people will work at the facility.

There is a possibility that by coming up with a name for the new product, the company will revive the legendary name Hummer. More information on the pickup is expected at the end of February.

The novelty should appear on sale next fall. The manufacturer plans to create 2023 electric cars by 20. Perhaps the most interesting and expected option is the Hummer electric SUV.
