Description of the Renault JS3 or Easy'R gearbox
In 2015, a single-clutch robotic box appeared on Dacia cars. The robot with the index JS3 and the marketing nickname Easy'R was produced at the concern's Spanish plant in Seville and was installed only on such budget models as Logan and Sandero. From 2015 to 2017, this gearbox was supplied to our market and installed on similar models.
The design of this robot is quite simple: a pair of ZF electro-mechanical actuators was simply added to the JH3 mechanical box, one engages the clutch, the second shifts gears. A similar device with the same components has a robotic box VAZ 21826.
A feature of this transmission is a number of driver assistance technologies, such as the Hill Start Assist anti-recoil system, the ability to use buildup during slipping, as well as special modes: winter, economical and creeping for driving in traffic jams.

- Most parts fit from JH3

- Cars with manual transmission are difficult to sell on the secondary market
Renault JS3 gearbox maintenance schedule
This robot is based on conventional mechanics and the oil in it needs to be changed every 60 km. To replace you will need 000 liters of Elf Tranself NFJ 3W-75, a total of 80 liters of lubricant in the box.
Shortcomings, breakdowns and problems of the Easy'R box
The most widespread problem of this manual transmission was the failure of the electronic control unit, which was expressed in freezing in one gear. Most often, the box returned to normal after a flashing, however, dealers often had to replace the ECU under warranty.
Since this robot is based on the usual JH3 manual transmission, it is characterized by its breakdowns. At high mileage, bearings often begin to buzz, and especially on the secondary shaft, but the replacement is relatively inexpensive, since everything comes from a mechanical box.
Even this robotic box from donor mechanics got weak seals and oil leaks are not uncommon here. Fortunately consumables are cheap and easy to change.
The manufacturer claims the resource of the JS3 robot is 150 km, but usually it also goes 000 km.
