Short test: Toyota Yaris Van 1.0 VVT-i

So, wandering the city streets, we wondered why a man (in fact, a company) bought a small van for 11.050 euros. The aforementioned pizza delivery companies are much cheaper, even the prices of new small city vans start below tens of thousands.

We know the Yaris is a good kid, and the same goes for the rear bench and the windowed version: it's a well-made and pleasing to the eye machine with decent ride quality and a pleasantly soft steering wheel, although (design) already knows the lifespan of the current Yarisa expires.

There are plenty of drawers and storage space inside, the materials (especially if you look at the car as working hooks) are of good quality, the otherwise small seats are quite sturdy, and the only "glitch" is the installation of a button to control the ride. computer: it has found its place in the sensors, so changing the display while driving is a dangerous business.

The test engine had a displacement of a liter (a 1,3-liter engine with 100 "horsepower" is also available), and since we have never carried more than a hundred kilograms of cargo, 51 kilowatts of maximum power was sufficient. It develops a speed of up to 170 kilometers per hour, but already at the number 150 on digital meters, it “screams” at almost 5.000 rpm, and it also needs to be rotated at least three thousand revolutions per minute in the city for fast delivery.

Since the engine has only three cylinders, it emits a little more vibration at idle, but it doesn't run rough or cheap at all. Consumption in tests rose to almost eight liters when we were in a hurry, and dropped to six liters per hundred kilometers when we were moderate on the gas. We must pay tribute to the transmission, the adult car is a class higher.

Instead of a rear seat in the luggage compartment, there is a hard flat bottom covered with fabric that is already cracked. With a large enough luggage compartment, you get more in the van than you think, but the load shouldn't be too heavy: if you stretch far inland, your back will suffer.

The answer to the question from the first paragraph: with Yaris, the owner excels in two areas, namely quality and image. This is also taken into account when delivering eco-oranges.
