Brief test: Ford Transit Courier 1.6 TDCi Trend

Last but not least, the name was chosen in an exceptionally stylish way. This little van is truly built for courier service. Only anywhere else would all the features of a car based on the Ford B-Max show up so well! Maneuverability, excellent position on the road, a powerful and fairly economical engine, a pleasant interior (except for the controls on the center console) - these are certainly the characteristics that will help all buyers in choosing a Ford Courier. So let's mention everything that has been changed so that we can now load different loads into it.

The Courier is nearly eight centimeters longer than the B-Max and is only 4,157 1,62 meters long. On the side, in the basic configuration, there is only a sliding door on the right side, which is quite enough. The length of the cargo compartment in the basic version is 2,6 meters; in the Trend configuration, the owner also receives a folding passenger seat and an opening on the right side of the bulkhead for passengers and cargo. Thus, it can load items up to 660 meters long into the machine. Since the rear doors are double-leaf (asymmetrical), other loading options are possible. Of course, if you use up the Courier's full permitted payload (XNUMX kg), you will not be able to take turns, but there are suitable load securing loops in the cargo area.

Accessibility to cargo space is also good because the tailgate extends almost to the lower edge of the bumper. Handling and agility of the car is one of the best sides, but of course you have to prepare for a more "cargo" way of driving, in the interior of the car you will look in vain for the rear-view mirror in the middle. above the dashboard. However, the outer ones are quite large (with Trend equipment with electrical adjustment) and provide a reliable view to the rear, but for a more accurate approach to objects from behind, parking sensors will be required. For all its usefulness, I advise you to check a little more about the purchase. Perhaps it is enough to compare the Courier Transit with the Tourne so that in addition to a fully loaded version of the same vehicle, we also consider an offer for combined transport. We have already tested this in the Auto store.

He was surprised by the price - with a much richer (Titanium) it costs less than this time the tested truck. Well, our previous one was equipped with a three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, while the Transit was equipped with a four-cylinder 1,5-liter turbodiesel. The latter showed itself well in terms of performance, but surprised by not quite economical fuel consumption. So the choice will be quite difficult ...
