Short test: Opel Mokka X 1.4 Turbo Ecotec Innovation

The plan worked. So far the Mokka has been a car to love. Sales figures speak volumes about this as well, as Opel once again had a better time with its arrival at the end of 2012. The refurbishment brought quite a lot of new things in areas where they lagged behind the original Mokka. For example, X also stands for a much better infotainment system (with the addition of OnStar). The larger touchscreen also means less clutter with the buttons on the dash and center console – though of course, such progress shouldn't be equated with more safety while driving. The view from the road still needs to be directed with a finger to where we are looking for a function on the screen.

An add-on that wasn't available before is the Opel Eye, a device that provides automatic braking in the event of a collision.

However, the overhaul did not make any changes to the engine, which was equipped with "our" Mokka X. But bigger and "fresher", however, only further confirms our feelings. It is true that he was already somewhat distracted by excessive thirst, which is confirmed by our measurements on a normal circle and in normal test driving, but it is also true that the average consumption of excessive driving at higher speeds and constant search for maximum power on the front wheels changes in higher values. In any case, the performance of the automatic transmission, which is the best part of the Mokka drive, is commendable.

The level of innovative hardware is the best you can think of with the Mokka X. But that's not the end of the selection. Quite a lot of equipment is available for an additional fee. Thus, Opel also enriched our Mokka X Innovation with accessories, which in total amounted to another six thousand. For an extra price, you get more comfortable seats, the Opel Eye package, LED headlights and adaptive headlight switching, a rearview camera and infotainment navigation part - IntelliLink Navi 900. A lot? Yes. But the one who slows down when choosing and chooses only what is really necessary can only be satisfied with Mokka X Innovation.

And one more thing: if I had to choose, I would definitely go for the better liquid turbodiesel X!
