The car of air-foam extinguishing AV-40 (53215) on the KamAZ-53215 chassis, equipped with a fire pump PN-40UV is designed to deliver combat crew, fire-technical weapons and a foaming agent to the place of fire; supply to the fire source of air-mechanical foam supplied along the hose lines. The fire pump is driven by the car engine through the power take-off, gearbox and cardan transmission. The initial filling of the suction line and the pump when taking water from the reservoir is carried out by a vacuum system. The electrical equipment of the car consists of the electrical equipment of the chassis and additional electrical equipment. Fire-technical weapons on the car are located on the roof of the body and in the compartments.
