Brief test: Audi Q3 TDI (103 kW) Quattro

Its mission is the same - to satisfy those customers who expect versatility from a car. The Audi Q3 is small, but it's an SUV. This means that you need to sit higher so that some drivers feel safer in it. On the other hand, compromises are needed - for a relatively short car, you need to deduct much more money than for a regular sedan. But in the test Q3, another important feature appeared - all-wheel drive.

This is how it happens: if there is, great; if not, good too. In Slovenia, the need for day-to-day use of all-wheel drive is actually very small. Winter is indeed approaching and the annual road service problems are always surprised by the evening snow in the morning, but let's face it: is it worth buying a four-wheel drive car because of a few days of snow? Of course not, but like I said, if that's the case, that's fine too. But don't think that this disc is free or cheap.

Audi is not a brand that everyone can afford, but this is also correct. Therefore, the test Q3 turned out to be a rather expensive toy, despite not quite first-class equipment. Luckily, the Slovenian dealer's Business package lowered the price even further, giving the customer a center armrest, automatic air conditioning, xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, an upgraded radio and additional soundproofing. windshield for more than 3.000 euros or, in connection with the mentioned package, at least 20 percent cheaper than everything else on the list. Not much, but still there.

But the Audi Q3 test was also a pleasant surprise! Despite the fact that it was equipped with all-wheel drive, which, of course, was due to the excellent grip and position of the car in both dry and wet weather, the engine was a pleasant surprise. The two-litre TDI turbodiesel is a longtime friend of the Volkswagen Group. Especially since we are not talking about the latest generation engine with 150 horsepower. In the third quarter there are “only” 3 of them, but they are so rational that it’s hard to believe the numbers. Not only did the on-board computer show an average consumption of only 140 liters per 2.500 kilometers over almost 6,7 kilometers, a manual calculation also confirmed the result of the computer; And that's even down to the last detail, or the calculated value was even lower (which is almost never the case, since the factories "persuade" the computer to show less than the engine actually consumes), only 100 liters per 6,6 kilometers.

Thus, the calculation of the standard consumption is also quite realistic, which showed only 4,6 liters per 100 kilometers after 3 kilometers and compliance with the speed limits. This figure is also surprising due to the aforementioned all-wheel drive, which in most cases helps to maintain engine thrust at least a few deciliters higher. In the test QXNUMX, despite the four-wheel drive, it turned out to be more than small, which means that the car was at least partially bought out at the expense of a higher starting price. After a few years and with high mileage, the final calculation turns out to be more than favorable, despite the large initial investment and money saved on the fuel used.

evaluation

  • Despite being Audi's smallest SUV, the Audi Q3 easily meets the needs of the average driver. In addition, it offers a comfortable driving position for the driver, making it suitable for long distances, where the trump card is the two-liter turbodiesel engine, which impresses with power and impresses with its low fuel consumption.
