Short test: Fiat 500C 1.3 Multijet

But none of that. Meanwhile, the Fiat 500C left our test fleet without seeing a single warm, sunny day. But nothing de. Meteorologists cannot disappoint us as much as we can dress. Nevertheless, it is ready, and therefore we dressed like the bears of Kochevye, who “walked” along this five hundred above, without them.

The first impression was quite unexpected, because everyone was expecting such an indistinct convertible, full of turns, from where a breath of cold wind comes from behind the neck. But until the last stage of opening (when the tarpaulin roof is folded into a pile) at city speeds, wind gusts (unpleasant from behind) are barely perceptible. Only taller drivers will feel the air flowing through the roof at the head.

Undoubtedly, the opening of the roof while driving is to be commended, as it can be opened and closed at speeds up to 60 km/h – practically at any time within the speed limit in the city.

In fact, a car designed this way lacks some elements of usability, but it still seems like Fiat was thinking about how to ease the problems for users. A good example is the roof: when we fold it all the way to the end, the pleated fabric rolls over the trunk. If the tailgate had been open at that time, it would have stuck to the canvas somewhere in the middle. But this is how the roof moves away from the door at the moment when we take the luggage hook. As expected, the trunk doesn't offer more liters, but it's flexible when moving and folding the rear seat. However, the opening is so small that sometimes it is better to open the roof, knock down the rear bench and throw larger items through the roof into the trunk.

In fact, they gave us this Petstotica for testing because, unlike the first one tested (AM 24/2010), it is powered by a diesel engine. This was not expected to be a pleasant surprise, since the car's purpose is such that the diesel engine does not suit it. The difference in price, slow warm-up and blur of the engine at low revs put pressure on the scales from the side of the gas station. And the diesel, in collaboration with a partner who sounds like a five-speed manual transmission, creates quite a lot of noise, which is even more audible due to the poorly insulated roof.

But despite the engine, the 500C will put a smile on your face as soon as you fire it up. Accurate cornering, looking for potholes between cars at the entrances to the city, and quick stops at traffic lights (where you can see the left and right views from neighboring cars) are what makes this Five Hundred so special. Not a high-tech solution or not a performance - it is these bright everyday "candies" that give this car a special charm that makes it stand out from the crowd.

Therefore, it is not difficult to create a buyer profile for such a machine. He loves to enjoy the views from the street, does not miss a single weather forecast and smiles broadly at the word "anticyclone".
