Of course, not everything is with you, even with the design of the latest generation Civic, but whoever likes it will easily be convinced that it is a good package.

It's a pity that Honda only offered a really good turbo diesel now that they are gradually going out of style. But on the other hand, they will not disappear from the automotive industry overnight, so let the adage “Better late than never” apply.

And it would be really a shame if Civic fans did not get such an engine. The predecessor, the 2,2-litre turbodiesel, was more than small for a midsize car and therefore too expensive. The new 1,6-litre engine is not one of the smallest engines in its class, but it proves to be flexible, responsive, decent performance and, above all, acceptable fuel consumption. If you have driven only about 500 kilometers at a fairly fast pace on the highway, and then find on the pump that the calculation confirms the on-board computer information that the average consumption was just over five liters, we can only bow to such a car or engine. . Also because in normal driving it turns out even better - as in a normal circle, where the average fuel consumption barely exceeded the limit of four liters.

While the engine is the heart of the car, for many, that's not all. Not for the Civic, but it is complemented by an interesting design (for those who like it, of course), decent equipment in the Elegance package and still an affordable price.

This below the line means that for many, such a Civic can be an interesting and, above all, an economically viable choice.

evaluation

  • It's the same with the latest generation Civic, as with many of its predecessors - you may or may not like the design. But even if it doesn't shine in terms of design, it can still be a great package overall, including a good engine, Japanese precision gearbox, and above-average standard equipment.
