Short test: Hyundai i10 N-Line (2020) // Mestna srajca

Freely, according to the Dictionary of Slovenian Phrases, townspeople, especially in rural areas, marked townspeople with a town shirt, as a joke and a little teasing. Of course, mainly because they did not know how to do manual labor, but they were always more or less accurate in appearance.

The same can be said for the i10 N-Line. And I don't mean anything bad! Sometimes a car is not necessary, although it is designed a little more dynamically to be an athlete, right? Well, the slight deviation of the i10 N-Line in the area of the engine compared to the classic versions still brings... Only in this configuration it is possible to order the most powerful liter engine with a capacity of 100 "horsepower", so first a few words about it. If I had to give him a grade after school, I would give him a good grade.

The engine works great in the city as it delivers ample torque even at low revs, flexibility is enviable while boosting it at higher revs doesn't smell good. At the same time, it works well with an accurate (and fast enough) transmission, in which the engineers managed to achieve the ideal balance between the already mentioned liveliness and economy. With (only) five gears, in addition to ample urban dynamism, they also managed to ensure that the small engine under the hood, even on the highway at 130 kilometers per hour, still only develops around 3.000 rpm.

However, there he does not feel in the best way, for which nshows consumption rapidly exceeding 7 liters per 100 km, and only average directional stability.... Even the consumption of 5,8 liters on a normal circle and in ideal conditions (empty and dry road) is not entirely exemplary. The engine is one of the loudest, but the noise, in my opinion, is still completely within the normal range and suits the character of the car.

How much does Hyundai need for such a set of accessories? € 750 for a more powerful engine and € 1.200 for a bundle of N-Line optical and technical accessories. – also 14-inch disc brakes for the new 16-inch wheels and stiffer springs and dampers. Don't worry, comfort is still a feature of this model and they haven't ruined it as some hardness is only felt on the more pronounced bumps so the little one is now more willing to slide into the turn.
