Short test: Škoda Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI (103 kW)
I remember Autoshop testing a Volvo V70 XC. At the time it was very nice for all of us in the family, but too expensive given the available budget. In 2000, a semi-car Swede in the basic version cost 32.367,48 euros, or just over 37 thousand euros, as described by the namesake Koroszec in a test that can be found in our online archive at www.avto-magazin.si . Look where European prices have gone: today the Škoda (I emphasize – Škoda!) Octavia Scout is not much cheaper.
Scout is more expensive than the cheapest Octavia station wagon on the market. So it's expensive, but without the slightest hint of doubt, I write that the product is worth my money. Or, as our Facebook reader wrote as a comment to the published photo of a trip computer with an average consumption of 4,1 liters per 100 kilometers: “Law. It's a shame that Volkswagen performs better than Volkswagen itself. "
The buyer gets a lot for their money: four-wheel drive, a fairly powerful and very economical turbodiesel, a fast DSG automatic transmission, Bluetooth connectivity, a touch screen, a lot of thoughtful space (the trunk with hooks and a double bottom is just great!) And very well. Even this Scout is handsome—maybe more beautiful than a lifted Tradewind with plastic fenders?
It rides well: on the highway and turns better than city SUVs, and in the field it is quite enough for family (but not for forest) use, since it is 4 millimeters taller than the Octavia 4X17 and four centimeters higher than the front one. -wheel drive standard octavia combi. Basically only the front wheelset is driven and the electronically controlled Haldex multi-plate clutch transmits torque to the rear wheels as well. Therefore, the consumption is very moderate: when you smoothly press the gas to a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, the on-board computer recorded a record low 4,1 liters, and in real consumption the consumption ranges from 6,8 to 8,1 liters per 100 kilometers.
The only thing that bothered me was that I had nowhere to insert a USB stick with music (hello, every base Hyundai has one!) And that it had to lie under the car to electrically connect the trailer because it was uncomfortably hidden deep under the lid. rear bumper. Think about how to connect it to a muddy lawn ...
Very FOR.
