Short test: Mazda3 SP CD150 Revolution

We all agreed that the black and white combination suits her very well. As seen in the photos, the test Mazda3 had a darker spoiler, rear diffuser, 18-inch wheels, rearview mirrors and side skirts. Read: about three thousand accessories. Along with the innocent white body color, it caught the eye of many, and if beauty were judged by twisted heads, the Mazda3 would be praised highly. Unfortunately, you shouldn't look for cosmetic and sports accessories in the interior, as they were forgotten. We also lacked more sink-like seats, not to mention the more pronounced soundstage of the 2,2-liter turbodiesel. Not only are there no jerks in the rear at wide open throttle, we didn't even notice the pleasant turbo hiss or sporty sound when shifting gears.

In short, if we add to this a chassis that was not adapted to the sportier character of this car (and we must commend that it was not too difficult!) And winter tires, then you know that we can only talk about dynamism calmly. However, it should be said loudly and clearly that the engine is excellent: sharp when you need to quickly bypass the truck, but also economical, as we used only 6,3 liters per hundred kilometers (average test) or a modest 4,5 liters at normal conditions. circle. Together with the precise, but not fast, six-speed gearbox, they make a great combination, and I can honestly say that I wouldn't advocate a Mazda3 like this at all.

The reason for the excitement is also the rich equipment, from leather accessories to RVM (radar system for monitoring safe lane changes) and i-STOP (turning off the engine during short stops), from a touch screen with navigation to a projection screen, from smart keys to xenon headlights. You could say: a hat full of goodies. In the end, let's face it, we found it difficult to separate from this soft sporty turbo diesel. It may not be quite a Japanese GTD, but after the first launch it grows to the core.

  • The exterior promises more sportiness than the Mazda3 SP CD150 can provide. However, you will be surprised by the ease of use, the smooth running of the chassis and the modest fuel consumption!
