Short test: Mazda3 Sport 1.6i Takumi

So don't be surprised by the beautiful view. They borrowed the sportier grille and rear spoiler from the GTA version, while dark silver 17-inch wheels and tinted rear windows add a point to the i. Together with an aggressive front spoiler, this Mazda3 is, at first glance, a dynamic car that appeals to young and old alike.

A similar story inside. The test car had sports front seats and special instrument lighting from the GTA version, interior hooks were also illuminated, and the driver's right hand could rest on the sliding backrest between the first seats. While the Mazda3 may gradually lose touch with younger competitors due to design or other high-quality material choices, it is well-equipped.

The test car had cruise control, a light and rain sensor, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, and a hands-free TomTom navigation system. Automatic two-channel air conditioning provides just the right temperature, radio with CD for entertainment, switchable ESP, four airbags and two air curtains for safety.

So we can see that the Mazda3 Takumi is missing out on nothing. The 1,6-liter gasoline engine with 77 kilowatts has sufficient elasticity and flexibility, so that the Troika only has a five-speed manual transmission. Interestingly, apparently, the gear ratio in fifth gear is calculated so long that the engine noise is not annoying even on the highway. However, we must explicitly praise the mechanics: thanks to short and precise movements, the gearbox can also be a model for many more established competitors, and the chassis and steering system ensure predictable driving. What did we say? Older, crazier ... we mean sporty.
