Quick test: Volvo V40 D2 lettering // Last attack

Already at its presentation in 2012, the V40 was considered a car that sets high standards in its class. It was the first car at the time to offer an external airbag to prevent serious injury in a collision with a pedestrian, as well as a system. City Safety detecting obstacles in front of the vehicle and hence slowing down or stopping the car was considered advanced. Recall that even digital sensors were not common in cars of this class.

Over the years, Volvo has regularly updated its range of in-car safety equipment, so today's V40, with sweets such as radar cruise control, LED lights and advanced telephony systems, continues to have strengths against the competition.

An area in which it cannot compete is certainly interior design. The control panel, with its intuitively complex layout of buttons that control the infotainment interface, is definitely behind the times. The seven-inch color screen can display the most basic information, but don't expect a pretty picture or graphically interesting menu. Otherwise, the V40 still offers superb comfort with extremely comfortable seats and plenty of room for the driver and front passenger. Heated seats, electric defrosting of the windshield and an efficient ventilation system made our cold winter morning easier.and the LED lights illuminated the road perfectly. Cons of users? Lack of space in the back seat and too small a trunk.

The test V40 was equipped with a basic diesel engine, which, however, gave satisfactory results. 120 'horses'. The smoothness and agility of the engine are ideally combined with a chassis that is neutral in favor of a secure position and comfortable mileage. But it can also be economical - without delaying traffic from behind, such a V40 will consume about five liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. Speaking of savings, by far the biggest selling point of the current V40 is the price. If you add leather upholstery, parking sensors, a modern audio system, a smart key and more to all of the above equipment, you will not receive more than 24 pieces.
