Short test: Nissan Juke 1.2 DIG-T Tekna

You know the story: Juka was intended for young people, and older people bought it. At first glance, this may seem absurd, but its roots are in a higher driving position, which is written on the skin of older people. If we add to that less usability, since seniors don't need as much space as youngsters, a good experience with old Nissans and, just as important, money that young people mostly don't have, the absurdity makes sense.

Nissan, of course, is also pleased with this, as they say that quite a few customers came to their dealerships, although they did not have a car of their brand before. But through their teeth, however, they quietly admit that the Juke was intended primarily for young people and those who are young at heart. Maybe eat some more?

The Juke's redesigned design continues a direction that might be jokingly visible. How else would you interpret the vibrant yellow color, similar to lights and boomerang-shaped gadgets that even more prestigious cars would not be ashamed of?

We are talking about an ultra-modern camera (reverse, bird's-eye view), anti-blind system, lane keep assist, skin ... But a conversation in the editorial office immediately reveals its weak points. Everyone, especially tall drivers, would immediately change the bird's eye view for a longitudinally movable steering wheel, and passengers would have a huge panoramic roof for a two-piece automatic air conditioner, since it was only one-piece.

Along with the passengers, casual firms have also praised the yellow accessories inside, although there is a dark side to this decision: firstly, the front passengers slide their knees on the plastic in front of the gear lever, which has already had consequences for the new test car. on sunny days, it reflects too much on the windows and bothers the driver. This is no doubt nice, especially when we add yellow stitching to the leather steering wheel, the gear lever upholstered in the same material, the seats and the door liners.

The interior of this car is tighter, but the newcomer has an increased trunk, which now has 354 liters. With a slide-out board (double space!) You can also create a completely flat bottom that comes just when you need to carry a box or two. But they don't drive in anymore… The chassis was too stiff and the explosion around the body became annoying soon after 130 km / h. But the 1,2-liter turbo engine is really bouncy and it also spoils the fffjuu, fffjuuu that puts sports car fans at bay. Unfortunately, its range is at best only about 400 kilometers, since our average fuel consumption was 8,5 liters, and on a normal circle we reduced it to the still not best 6,3 liters.

So where are you young, people are still wondering at Nissan. Then they say that young people buy (only) with their eyes. Are you sure?
