When a car manufacturer decides to make one of its models a larger, more "family" version, it has two options: it handles things almost like a new model, and the car is completely enlarged, with a change in wheelbase and all bodywork, or just stretches the rear part and enlarges the torso. When it comes to the Tiguan, Volkswagen has gone for the first option – and has turned the Tiguan into the perfect family car.

The difference in wheelbase of ten centimeters is enough to make this increase in the cabin even more recognizable. No matter how big the driver is in the front (and yes, even if he has more than 190 centimeters, he will sit comfortably), there will be no pain in the knees in the back (but there is no problem for the head due to the shape of the body). When we add good seats to that, the space in the Tiguan Allspace becomes very comfortable in terms of space, with perhaps a few exceptions to the chassis, which has some problems with damping short, sharp bumps, especially at the rear, but here's the price to pay for the design. SUV, good road position and low profile tires.
The Tiguan Allspace tested was at the top of the Tiguan lineup, so it also had a very good infotainment system. It may sound a little strange, but the test was carried out with the latest technology, which does not mean that it is the best in everything. It lacks a rotary volume knob (this will be fixed in VW soon) and we would rather think of a “worst” level where some functions can be accessed from the keys right next to the screen and are easier to use than the latter. version. Well, it still boasts a better screen, more features, and even better performance. Of course, it connects perfectly to smartphones (including Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto) and also masters basic gesture controls.
The test Allspace had the most powerful diesel under the hood, combined with all-wheel drive and dual-clutch transmission. Diesel can be too loud at low revs, but the motorized Tiguan Allspace is fast and fuel efficient. Consumption of six liters on a normal circle itself (on winter tires) also confirms this.
But at the same time, and praising this motorization, of course, we can say that Allspace would be a worthy choice even with less powerful - and then it would be cheaper. 57 thousand for this class and not a premium brand, however, this is quite a lot of money. Well, if we ditched the leather upholstery, opted for a lower level infotainment system, removed the panoramic skylight and, above all, resorted to, say, a weaker diesel engine (140 kilowatts or 190 "horsepower"). instead of 240 "horsepower" he had a test Allspace) the price would be below 50 thousand - the car is no worse, in fact.
