Car theft before Christmas. What not to fall for? (video)

Car theft before Christmas. What not to fall for? (video) How do thieves steal cars? The host of the Thieves program, Marek Frizier, explained in Dzień Dobry TVN that, in particular, the method is “on the bottle”.

One of the most popular car theft methods is the turnkey method. Taking advantage of the negligence of the vehicle owners, the thieves first steal the keys and then drive off in their cars. Potential victims are most often sought out among supermarket shoppers. Taking advantage of the driver's inattentive moment, the thieves take the keys, which allow them to quickly steal a car parked in front of the store.

The method of the so-called "Leaf". In parking lots, thieves choose those cars that have been parked in such a way that their owner can see large flyers behind the rear wiper. After driving off and noticing a map limiting the view, the driver stops and exits to increase the view.

Then the thief steps in, quickly gets behind the wheel and drives away. Most often, drivers leave the keys inside or even do not turn off the engine, believing that after a while they will hit the road. The police advise not to stop immediately upon seeing such a leaflet, but after driving several tens or several hundred meters. Thieves usually wait near the parking lot. So they won't be able to run such a distance in a short time.

Another way to steal a car is the so-called "bottle" method. The thieves find the right car in the parking lot and place a plastic water bottle on one of the rear wheels. When the driver starts moving, he rubs against the wheel arch, causing an unpleasant noise. When the driver gets out of the car... the further scenario is the same as in the case of the "on the fly" method.
