KTM recalls Panasonic batteries from its e-bikes

In a joint statement, Panasonic and KTM have just announced the launch of an e-bike recall campaign due to a potential battery issue.

Review applies to 2013 models. According to Panasonic, the battery poses a risk of overheating, which in extreme cases could lead to fire. In total, around 600 models will be affected in Europe.

If the incident is not to be regretted today, Panasonic and KTM prefer to play it safe by recalling the appropriate batteries. The recall only applies to batteries with a serial number starting with RA16 or RA17. The serial number can be easily identified on the underside of the battery.

Users who own these batteries are requested to stop using them and return them immediately to their dealer for standard replacement. For any questions on the subject, KTM has also opened a dedicated hotline: +49 30 920 360 110.
