KTM Launches Line of Electric Balance Bikes

The Austrian brand's first electric balance bike, the KTM StaCyc, promises up to 60 minutes of battery life.

Kids' balance bikes, also called e-bikes, used by kids to learn how to ride a bike, are also switching to electric bikes. In an effort to enter this new market, KTM decided to join forces with StaCyc, a brand specializing in this type of electricity.

Available in several rim sizes (12 "or 16"), KTM electric balancers provide 30 to 60 minutes of battery life with 45 to 60 minutes of charge time. In practice, children can use them like regular bicycles or activate one of three levels of assistance.

This new e-bike offering is expected to arrive in the brand's dealerships this summer. If the price is not disclosed, it should be higher than the base models offered by StaCyc, which are offered in the range of $649 to $849. KTM isn't the only brand that has taken advantage of StaCyc's services. A few months ago, Harley Davidson also launched a similar offering in partnership with the manufacturer.
