How are dog zones marked?

On most protected beaches in Poland, dogs are not allowed during the entire summer season, usually from June to September. In some places it is prohibited during certain hours. You can then take your pet to the beach in the evening or early in the morning when there is little traffic. Before entering the bathing area with your pet, you should look for signs that clarify this issue. Dog beaches in Poland are usually marked with a blue sign with a picture of a white animal and a message such as:

  • area for walking with animals,
  • pet beach,
  • dog beach,
  • beach for owners with dogs,
  • dog area,
  • dog beach,
  • you can come here with your dog.

Rules can also be placed next to the sign. Most often, he orders to keep the dog on a leash, put on a muzzle and clean up after the pet. To collect dog droppings, disposable bags and pouches, which can be found at some dog beaches, come in handy.

How to keep your dog safe on the beach?

When going to the beach with a dog, it is worth ensuring the safety of not only vacationing tourists, but also your pet. It is especially important to prevent your pet from becoming dehydrated. To do this, it is better to take a bottle of water with you. Bowls and drinkers are best for feeding your dog. The risk of dehydration is especially high in those animals that enter the sea and drink salty sea water. In addition, it can lead to digestive problems for your dog. It is also worth rinsing and cleaning your dog after a sea bath, because salt has drying properties and can cause skin allergies. In addition to clean water, a brush will also come in handy, as well as hygiene and care products such as dental spray, eye and eye rinse, wet wipes, detangling spray, and ear cleaner.

At the same time, care should be taken not to lose sight of the pet. If you plan to walk with him in the evening, then do not forget to take a reflective dog vest with you to the beach. Yellow or orange vests provide better visibility. They are put on through the front paws of the pet and fastened with Velcro. At the same time, a pet tag attached to a collar can come in handy. Inside it is worth placing information about the pet, as well as the contact details of the owner. Thanks to him, finding a dog becomes much easier. It is also important that your pet is not hungry. His favorite food and treats will be indispensable in this case. Your pet's safety also requires protection from ticks that it can infect while at the seaside. This type of risk will be reduced by a tick collar.
