Kymco Ionex: first electric scooter for a Taiwanese brand

The Kymco Ionex, unveiled at the 2018 Tokyo Motorcycles Show, heralds the arrival of an electric range from the Taiwanese brand.

The 50cc equivalent Kymco Ionex is neo-retro and announces the entry of Kymco into the electric scooter segment. On a technical level, the Ionex combines a "fixed" battery providing 25 km of autonomy with two removable batteries providing up to 50 km of autonomy each.

They are associated with a "distributor" that allows users to swap their batteries at the end of the charge for fully charged batteries. A system reminiscent of the solution already implemented by Gogoro in Taiwan.

In practice, each package should weigh less than 5 kg so that two packages can be easily transported at the same time.
