Lada Datsun or Nissan?

Looking at the statistics of search queries for the new Datsun model, you can see that most users think that the new product is a Lada model. Although, to be more precise, this brand belongs to the Japanese concern Nissan. But why, then, do so many people consider this car to be our Lada? Doesn't it look like anything? I think that many people recognized Lada Grant here, and frankly, this is not surprising! Take a close look at the body parts of Datsun:

• front and rear doors are completely similar and interchangeable with Kalina and Granta
• wings, both front and rear, are most likely identical to our VAZs
• the engine will be installed by VAZ 21116 or even 21114
• parts and trim for 99 5 from the new Kalina or Grants
• suspension of domestic production, only slightly differently tuned, again according to the creators of the model

In general, in fact, frankly speaking, there is practically nothing from the Nissan brand here. Well, maybe, except for the emblem on the radiator grille and trunk. Also, based on the appearance of the Datsun car, it can be noted that the front and rear lights, the trunk lid and the hood are still different from their domestic counterparts.

Ultimately if you choose a new one Datsun at a price of 400 rubles, then most likely overpay more than 80 thousand just for the brand name and a couple of nameplates. It is still difficult to say whether there will be any tangible differences from our Ladas, and everything will become known already in September 2014, when the first Datsuns will get to car dealerships.
