Many potential buyers of cars created by the domestic auto industry are interested in the release date of the Lada Vesta station wagon. No less relevant is the question of the cost of this fairly popular sedan. Some motorists do not stop their attention only on this model, but want to wait for a newer development - the Cross model.

In 2016, on September 25, according to the plan of the former director of AvtoVAZ, Bo Andersson, the descent from the Vesta conveyor in the station wagon was supposed to take place. But, due to the lack of funds to finance this project, the launch of production was postponed. According to the decision of Nicolas Mohr, who took the chair of the manager, the main share of capital investments for the revision of this version will fall on 2017. Production is planned to begin in the spring of the same year.

The exact date of the release of the Lada Vesta wagon has not been announced, however, the management of AvtoVAZ has already decided where the assembly line will be: at the Lada Izhevsk car plant. The main components and power units will be supplied there from Togliatti. It takes time from the start of production to the start of sales of the retail network, therefore, cars will appear in showrooms only in the summer of 2017.

The main proof of the imminent launch of the model in production is that it has already passed the test tests. Presumably, the Lada Vesta Cross concept car should go into mass production no earlier than the second half of 2017.

The designers of VAZ were faced with the difficult question of choosing the main power unit. The initial version with the installation of an engine from the Alliance did not work due to external economic problems. Having also abandoned the already tested 87 hp engines. and 98 hp, it was decided to install a 21129-liter VAZ-1,6 engine with a capacity of 106 hp. in two versions: with mechanics from Renault and with AvtoVAZ robotic gearbox.

With the further operation of the Vesta station wagon, the designers are considering replacing this engine with a VAZ-21179 with a capacity of 122 liters. s and a volume of 1,8 liters. He will work together with a robot box made at AvtoVAZ.

Lada Vesta Cross station wagon

For lovers of cars with a dynamic, aggressive appearance, in addition to the usual station wagon version, the Cross model will be released. Its distinctive features are enlarged wheels, modified suspension, and high ground clearance. Changes affected the upholstery and interior of the passenger compartment, as well as the outer plastic trim.

The external dimensions of the Vesta station wagon and the Cross versions differ only in ground clearance: the Cross has 20 mm more - 190 mm. Otherwise, they have common indicators:

• wheelbase -2635 mm;
• length - 4410 mm;
• width - l1764 mm;
• body height –1497 mm.

The version of the Cross-wagon itself also has one difference - the hatchback model is shorter by 160 mm.

In addition to technical indicators, the next, no less important question is the cost of the new Lada Vesta station wagon model. Objectively, it will be more expensive than a sedan, the price should increase by 25000 - 40000 rubles. And since at the moment the cost of the sedan starts at 520000 rubles, it can be assumed that it will cost at least 530000 rubles, subject to the presence of the most basic configuration.

In order not to be deceived in their expectations, it is better for a potential buyer to take into account the price of about 600000 rubles.

This amount will include:

1. on-board computer, immobilizer, burglar alarm, central locking, ERA-GLONASS system;
2. airbags responsible for the safety of the driver and front passenger. Moreover, the passenger airbag will be equipped with a shutdown function. For safety, the rear doors will be equipped with protection against accidental opening;
3. systems facilitating movement:

• ABS with emergency braking assistance;
• EBD - brake force distribution;

• TCS - anti-slip;
• HSA - lifting assistance.

7. Vehicle visibility on the road will be provided by daytime running lights and repeaters of turns on the side mirrors.
