Lamborghini Huracán LP-580, one of the best Lambo ever - Sports Cars

Hurricane LP-580, probably, Lamborghini the best in the last ten years. But let's start a little further back. Not by chance Lamborghini Gallardo was the best-selling Lamborghini in history. With 14.022 units sold, this is undoubtedly the most successful car to arrive at the gates of Sant'Agata Bolognese.

The fact that it was "small" made it much more agile than its older sister, the Murcielago, and much more comfortable in everyday use.

The first version had engine 5.0-liter V10 engine with 500 hp and 500 Nm of torque, capable of eclipsing the 400 hp of the V8 model. Ferrari 360 Modena; but despite its power and undeniable handling, the Lambo has always been rougher than its Italian rivals. On the other hand, Lamborghinis have no history in F1 and cannot boast advanced technology and supercharged engines with non-existent turbo lag (no turbo Lamborghinis).

But Lamborghini's idea was not to compete relentlessly with Ferrari in technology, but simply to offer something different.

However, I got the impression that Ferrari lost something in its path, perhaps frightened by the shadow. McLaren machines with incredible performance are looming, ready to steal customers.

Keep in mind that Ferraris are incredible cars, dynamically perfect, aesthetically beautiful and technologically futuristic. Lamborghini, however, today more than ever, continues to offer different products and Hurricane LP 580-2 a perfect example.

The House's “Children's Lambo” is still powered by a large and large naturally aspirated 10-liter V5,2 engine and develops 580 hp. and 540 Nm, at 30 hp. and 20 Nm less than the standard Huracán, but there is a special gem on its side: rear-wheel drive only.

The Huracán, like the Gallardo, has always been prized for its efficiency, but at the same time it has been criticized by purists for its understeer tendencies.

This is not the first time Lamborghini has faced this problem. Hurricane LP 580-2, in fact, it is a natural descendant Gallardo LP 550-2 Balboni, was also equipped with only rear-wheel drive.

The latest arrival among the angry bulls loses all-wheel drive and 33 kg of weight, as well as 30 horsepower. The power cut is rumored to be because the loss of all-wheel drive makes the Huracán even faster, and that would be a big problem for a 4WD commercial, so it was decided to loosen up the engine to even out the performance of the two cars. However, the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters remained, unlike the Gallardo Balboni, which was sold exclusively with a manual transmission.

That being said, after criticizing a disguised Audi against the Huracán, the LP 580-2 is more than welcome at the Olympus of supercars, given that large naturally aspirated engines are increasingly rare and rear-wheel-drive cars are always the cleanest.
