Lexus LF-Gh - the dark side of the force

Lately every limousine has to be dynamic and even sporty. Who wants to stand out, go further. Lexus says the LF-Gh hybrid prototype is an evolution of the idea... of a racing limousine.

The prototype model was shown at the New York Auto Show. When designing the car from scratch, the stylists tried to combine the hard face of an uncompromising athlete with the softness of a comfortable long-distance car, the ferocity of a sports car and the softness of an elegant limousine. The long, wide and not too high silhouette of the car has a rather conservative character of a massive limousine. Very predatory details give it a strong, individual character. Most notable is the large fusiform grille, shaped like the helmet of Darth Vader, the Star Wars villain. Its size and shape should provide good cooling for the engine and brakes, as well as improve the aerodynamics of the car. Next to the grille, there are other air intakes in the bumper with vertical LED fog lamps. The main headlights are narrow sets of three round bulbs. Beneath them is a row of LED daytime running lights with a harpoon-shaped tip to the side of the grille. The taillights look very interesting, with asymmetrical lenses, hidden LED lighting elements, reminiscent of the trademark Lexus head. The sharp ends of the outer elements protrude from the lower parts like splinters.

Despite the massive front end with a slightly swollen hood, the silhouette of the car is quite light thanks to the rear part with the upper edge of the tailgate protruding like a spoiler. Seeking to improve aerodynamics, stylists also downsized the door handles and replaced the side mirrors with small ridges to cover the cameras. So we can assume that somewhere in the interior there will be screens for them. Not much is really possible, because when it comes to the interior, Lexus has proven to be very limited in terms of information. Published three photos, which show some of the details. Not only do they communicate their form, but also the exclusive way of finishing and the quality of the natural materials. It can be seen that the dashboard is trimmed in leather, and the dashboard has a compact sporty character. At the bottom of the same photo is a fragment of an analog clock with a voluminous front, which should be more modern and exclusive than previously used.

Very little is known about driving this car. The platform on which the car is built is adapted to the rear axle drive. At the bottom of the rear bumper, two carefully sculpted exhaust pipes are located in a decorative strip. And that's pretty much all we know for sure. In addition, we have received claims that the vehicle must meet "extremely stringent emission standards expected in the future." The blue illuminated Lexus Hybrid Drive logo on the grille indicates hybrid drive. It aims to "rethink current concepts of power, economy, safety and environmental impact". Probably more light on these buzzing announcements will be shed by the next edition of this limousine, which will probably take place at one of the next car shows.
