Safer, more convenient and more efficient ... The new Lime-S Generation 3 electric scooter from the self-service specialist has just been introduced and will be launched in the cities where the operator is present starting next month.

If they arrived in Paris just recently, then Lime electric scooters have long been used in many American cities. Based on user feedback as well as its own experience, the California-based self-service startup has just made a number of changes to its electric scooter.

More comfort

Many of the modifications made to the Generation 3 Lime-S are aimed at improving ride comfort. While the previous generation was based on 8-inch wheels, the new one has XNUMX-inch wheels designed to make it easier to overcome obstacles, in particular curbs of sidewalks or potholes. Comfort is also enhanced by the addition of a suspension built directly into the front wheel for better cushioning.

In terms of safety, Lime-S Gen 3 announces the use of multiple braking devices. In addition to electric brakes, there are drum and foot brakes.

And since its electric scooters are not immune to the scourge of vandalism, Lime has also redefined their strength. The aluminum frame is significantly stronger than previous models and the integrated cables are no longer visible from the outside. Improvements that should limit damage and therefore operator repair costs.

Improved performance and new screen

On the electrical side, Lime points out that it has increased the battery capacity of its Gen 3 by about 20%, offering 40 to 50km of autonomy for this new version.

The main screen has also undergone major changes. The color, in particular, indicates the speed and state of charge of the battery. A screen that will soon be used to launch new features.

« We are currently working on developing technology that will communicate with users through the screen when they are not in parking lots, allowing them to make smart and responsible parking decisions. »Indicates, in particular, an operator who is also considering sharing other readings, in particular with regard to the development of meteorological conditions.
