American automaker Lincoln has confirmed a joint project with Rivian. According to the statements, it will be a completely new electric vehicle. There is no exact information on the characteristics. Most likely, it will be a major crossover. Such a novelty will be a big step in the field of electrification for Lincoln. Recall that now in the model range of the manufacturer there are only hybrids: Aviator and Corsair. 

Earlier it was reported that $ 500 million was invested in Rivian. As you can see, the money was invested not in vain. Now a brand, founded in 2009, provides Lincoln a platform for a new car. The same base is used in the Rivian R1S model (pictured), which was introduced in 2018. 

The platform implies the presence of four electric motors with a total power of 408 to 764 hp. The power reserve of the car is 386, 500 and 660 km. These characteristics can only be used as guidelines: in the new crossover, the figures, of course, may differ.

The exact information regarding the technical characteristics is most likely to be provided to us in the near future. It remains to be satisfied with the words of Lincoln representatives who said that the car will be equipped with “advanced technologies”. 

There is no exact information about whether the new product will be a crossover. Nevertheless, the chances are very high, because the latest Lincoln SUVs have significantly improved the sales situation. In 2019, 8,3% more cars were sold than a year earlier.
