Lithuanian AKO shows competitor Triggo. Faster, more battery, more range. Prototype at the moment

Lithuanian startup AKO has unveiled a lightweight tricycle that could compete with the Polish Triggo in the future. The car is in the early prototype stage, so it outperforms the Polish product in every way – of course, so far mostly on paper.

AKO Trike, Triggo - beautiful, beautiful, but why so premium?

The AKO Trike is a tricycle that offers the riding experience of a motorcycle while at the same time offering greater rider comfort. The vehicle must be equipped battery with a capacity of 26 kWh and an engine with a maximum torque of 600 Nm. So that it can roll asphalt (source), although a battery of this capacity with two seats for passengers in a cabin of this size ... it would be difficult:

Its developers have made the first prototypes so far, but they say the car will weigh 450 kilograms and should reach "a range of about 300 kilometers." This results in a consumption of about 7-8 kWh / 100 km, which is an achievable value, albeit rather for a smooth ride (say, up to 70 km / h). The tricycle must be equipped with front and side airbags and seat belts.

In short: no one thinks about an affordable price. AKO announces an amount of 20-24 thousand euros, which means equivalent to PLN 90-110 thousand.

For comparison: the Polish Triggo must have a replaceable battery of indefinite capacity and accelerate to 90 km / h.The vehicle has been developed since 2012, since 2019 we know that it will not be possible to buy it at all, it can be rented (leased) only from the manufacturer ...

The Triggo was supposed to be in production from early 2019/2020, but it looks like the quad is still in preparation and the company is looking for potential customers – articles about the quad appeared in some German media a few days ago. They talk about production in 2021 (source).

What's next? Let's see. These are not the first three- or four-wheeled electricians to hit the market. Unfortunately, everyone has the same problem: the high price tag.
