Front brake hose burst

1355227867_4-brake hosesYesterday I bought new rear brake pads and decided to change them. Everything happened as usual, first I jacked up the car, removed the wheel and proceeded to remove the rear drum on my VAZ 2107. I think the owners of the classics will understand me - everyone knows how the rear drum is removed, it is very problematic.

He unscrewed the studs that hold it and pushed it onto the semi-axle with a VED so that everything would turn off a little there. A few minutes later I tried to shoot, but as always, nothing worked and I had to do everything in the usual way:

  • Turn on the speed, start the car and in third gear, accelerate and brake sharply so that the drum spins on the axle shaft.
  • After several such attempts, everything worked out and still managed to remove the drum.
  • I changed the rear pads not without difficulty, of course, I suffered as usual with the springs.
  • But when they started pumping the brakes, nothing worked, there were no brakes at all, it feels like the fluid immediately left somewhere.
  • It was already a bit dark outside and it was decided to postpone the search for a leak until tomorrow.
  • The next day, having examined all the wheels, I saw that there was a lot of brake fluid on the front wheel. It’s strange, of course, because we didn’t climb to the front end at all.
  • It turns out that during acceleration and hard braking, when the brake drums were removed, the front brake hose burst.

I went to the store quickly and for 100 rubles I took the right hose and put it in place. Thank God that the gust occurred at home on the spot, but if it happened on the track at a good speed, who knows how it could have ended. After pumping the brakes, now everything is fine, the rear brakes perfectly, and the front pads have also recently changed, so you can drive at least 15 km without worrying about the brakes.
