The best sports wagons on the list - Sports Cars

There is nothing better than to combine business with pleasure, in this case the practicality of a station wagon with the power of a thoroughbred sports car. Sports station wagons have always been a very popular category for us: they guarantee incredible performance and such a large trunk that five people can comfortably travel around Europe.

Are you child prodigies with your family? So let's figure out together which sports station wagons are the best.

It's useless to hide it, the war of superstations has always been German: from the Audi RS 2 to the intimidating atmospheric BMW M5 V10, in Germany the war of horses has always been close and it seems to be unabated.

Skoda Octavia RS

Una Skoda Octavia it may seem out of place in this ranking, but if you manage to get out of sight, in fact, RS, is for sale. 2.0 TSI with 230 hp and 350 Nm group Volkswagen it pushes like a train with impressive linearity and firmness, while the DSG gearbox fires its shots with every paddle.

The chassis defies great play, and driving a Skoda is always more efficient than fun. But its huge trunk, speed of the motor-transmission and excellent build quality are undeniable qualities.

It is difficult to find a station wagon with the best price-performance ratio.

Audi RS 4

With the arrival of a new Audi A4 , last RS4 Front she is close to retirement. The RS 4 is powered by a naturally aspirated 8-liter V4.2 engine with 450 hp. at 8.250 rpm and a torque of 430 Nm, which will soon give way to a new supercharged engine. In fact, for this type of car, turbocharging offers many advantages: more torque at the bottom, more efficiency and a more limited rev range.

The RS 4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4,7 seconds and reaches a limited 250 km / h.

The engine suffers enough from a lack of torque underneath to be kept high for the RS 4 to operate, but once you hit the tacho hot zone, the thrust is constant and the car starts to pick up speed, accompanied by a wonderful eight-cylinder core.

BMW M 550d

Latest generation BMW M5 is no longer available in the Touring version, but BMW M 550d it won't make you miss him much. Under the hood is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder supercharged diesel engine with three Twin Scroll turbines, capable of developing 381 hp. and a stratospheric torque of 740 Nm.

The task of transferring power to the wheels is entrusted to the Xdrive all-wheel drive system, which distributes torque more to the rear axle, while the 8-speed ZF gearbox always responds quickly and easily.

The transition from 0 to 100 km / h takes place in 4 seconds, and the top speed is automatically limited to 250 km / h.

The 550d may not have the sound and reach of the old M5 V10, but the availability of its specs and exaggerated torque make it an insanely fast and attractive all-rounder.

Audi RS6

If you are a fan of straight punches, thenAudi RS 6 this is the car for you. The 8-liter twin-turbo V4.0 engine produces an excellent 600 hp. and 700 Nm of torque and is capable of accelerating the RS 6 from 0 to 100 in 3,0 seconds to a top speed of 250 km / h, where the electronic limiter is triggered.

But the RS 6 isn't just fast on the straight. Audi's AWD system prioritizes the rear axle (equipped with a limited-slip differential) to avoid the overt understeer typical of older Audi models, and the steering is much more lively and detailed than expected.

The level of performance is very high and on the road the RS is capable of crazy speeds without the slightest effort.

Mercedes E 63 AMG

There is one feature that makes Mercedes E 63 AMG compared to competitors: rear-wheel drive. It's reasonable to expect such power from a station wagon (stations should be more practical), but why give up the lust of power oversteer? In fact, the E 63 can also be bought with the 4MATIC version, but we clearly prefer the bad sister. The engine, despite the initials 63, is no longer a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated, but a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with 557 hp. at 5500 rpm and 720 Nm of torque in combination with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

This engine is a real marvel, and it makes you quickly forget about the old atmospheric "seiedue": the sound is guttural and menacing, and the thrust it can provide is addictive.

The range is such that you can easily paint long black streaks on the pavement, but the traction of the huge rear wheels is sufficient for an even cleaner ride.
